Kansas
City men's basketball had two honored today by College Sports Madness
as sophomore guard Estan Tyler and junior forward/center Fred Chatmon
were named Madness Summit League fourth team all-conference on Friday.
Tyler
(St. Paul, Minn.) leads the 'Roos with 11.5 points per game to go with
his team-best 86 assists. He is fourth in the Summit League with a .436
three-point percentage, while also hitting .836 from the free throw
stripe. He was named Summit League Player of the Week after scoring a
career-best 25 points in a win at South Dakota on January 12. The
starting point guard, he leads the team with 31.7 minutes per game, more
than seven mpg more than the next closest player.
Chatmon
(Cleveland, Ohio) leads the 'Roos and ranks fourth in the conference
with 7.5 rebounds per game. His 209 rebounds are ninth in school history
for a single season, while his average also sits ninth in the record
books. He is also four blocks shy of cracking the single season top 10
in that category. He leads the team with four double-doubles, and
recorded 16 boards against then No. 25 Kansas State. Chatmon also adds
7.5 points per game and shoots .532 from the field.
College
