The Missouri Senate's passage of a tax credit for sporting events could attract larger events to the state.
The
Senate voted 28-4 for legislation that would reimburse sponsors of
sporting events with $5 for every ticket sold, KMOX reports. The bill's
sponsor, Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Glendale, told the radio station that the
measure would help Missouri compete with other states for larger events
such as the NCAA Final Four basketball tournament.
The bill now goes to the House for a vote.
