Mavs
Streak Towards Top Four- The Missouri Mavericks (28-19-4) have won
three straight games and are coming off back-to-back extra time wins
beating a pair of teams ahead of them in the standings in Fort Worth on
Friday night in overtime and Wichita on Saturday night in a shootout.
The Mavs are now just one point behind Rapid City for fourth place in
the conference and are seven points behind third place Fort Worth.
Missouri's game on Tuesday against Denver has been postponed due to bad
weather in Denver and Independence and has been rescheduled for
Wednesday, March 13. Forward Colt King has scored goals in five straight
games (six goals over that stretch) and is one game shy of the longest
goal streak in the CHL this season (Jesse Dudas - six games). The Mavs
penalty kill has not allowed a power play goal in the last three games
(10 for 10) which is a positive sign as they are last in the league with
a 78.2% PK.
Forward
Sebastien Thinel is riding a five-game point streak and his CHL points
lead has stretched to nine points over second place Jon Booras
(24-43=67). Thinel has a goal and six assists during his win streak and
the two-time CHL points champion has 22 goals and 54 assists on the
season (76 points). The veteran also is second in the CHL with a +24
plus/minus rating, the highest of his 10-year career.
