Kansas
City is asking a group to refund $15,000 for failing to bring Floyd
Mayweather to the city on Dec. 8 to speak to young adults, KSHB reports.
A
Tuesday letter sent to The Peers Organized to Support Student
Excellence Program and signed by Kansas City Manager Troy Schulte
demanded the $15,000 be returned in full, or the city would "avail
itself of remedies allowed under the law."
The
move to bring the famous boxer to the metro already faced initial
opposition, with critics speaking out against the city using taxpayer
money to pay for someone with a domestic violence background to speak to
young adults about being healthy and drug free.
