Jesse Perrin scored just 11 seconds into overtime to give the Missouri
Mavericks a 2-1 win over the Fort Worth Brahmas Friday night at NYTEX
Sports Center. Perrin finished with two points on one goal and one
assist and Mavericks’ goaltender Mike Clemente stopped 26 of 27 shots

and fifth goal in those four games. The Mavericks (27-19-4) head home
for a game against the Wichita Thunder Saturday night at Independence
Events Center.
“Incredible
team win tonight,” said Mavericks’ Head Coach Scott Hillman. “We just
wore them down by the end of the game, and we played a great defensive
hockey game.”
Fort
Worth scored their only goal of the game in the first period on an
unassisted goal by Shawn Szydlowski at the 10:05 mark. The Brahmas held
a 13-8 lead in shots after one period as well.

Brad Fogal at the 6:13 mark of the second period and the teams were
tied, 1-1.
The
game remained tied until 11 seconds into the overtime when Perrin
scored his second goal of the season and sent the visiting team home
with a win. Perrin was assisted by Brandon Smith and Sebastien Thinel,
and the Mavericks improved to 2-1-0 against the Brahmas this season.
Neither
team was able to score on the power play with the Mavericks going
0-for-5 and Fort Worth 0-for-4. Missouri finished with 29 shots
compared to 27 for the Brahmas.

of Mike Clemente. The Brahmas added another goal just over 10 minutes
later when Hogg scored the first of two shorthanded goals at the 15:24
mark. Fort Worth scored four goals on 13 shots in the opening period
while the Mavericks were scoreless on 11 shots.
Missouri
battled in the second period and outshot the Brahmas 13-4, but the
Mavericks still trailed by four goals by the end of the period. Forward
Podge Turnbull got the Mavericks on the scoreboard at 7:41, but Sy
Nutkevitch answered when he scored on a penalty shot at the 9:38 mark.
The
teams again traded goals in the third period to finalize the scoring at
6-2. Kenton Miller extended his scoring streak to eight games when he
beat Fogal glove side just 1:29 into the period. The Mavericks pulled
their goaltender with over four minutes remaining, but they were unable
to get any closer on the scoreboard. Adam Hogg scored his second
shorthanded goal of the game with 49 seconds remaining regulation to
give the Brahmas a 6-2 victory.
Missouri

Fort
Worth brought the score within two goals with the lone goal of the
second period from Sy Nutkevitch, but that would be as close as the
Brahmas would get.

and Fort Worth remained at 3-1 in favor of the Mavs until Emmerson
added the final tally on the night with an empty net goal in the final
minute of regulation. Missouri goaltender Mathieu Corbeil was steady in
