University of Missouri-Kansas City Considers A Name Change

The University of Missouri-Kansas City may become the University of Kansas City or Kansas City University, KMBZ reports.
UMKC Chancellor Leo Morton said the school is exploring and testing reaction to the names, which recognize the school’s importance to the Kansas City community, where the bulk of its students come from, KMBZ reports.
Even if the name changes, the school would remain in the University of Missouri System, the report says.
A final decision is expected by the end of the year.
