Denver’s new Central Hockey League team has as website and Facebook page
and is running a contest soliciting guesses for the team’s name. Mile
High Magic, Denver Gold Miners and Denver Storm are among the guesses
submitted so far.
The
Denver franchise (which is owned by an investment group headed by John
Hayes, president and CEO of Broomfield, CO-based Ball Corp.) said it
expects to announce the team’s logo, nickname and colors in about a
month.
But
documents filed with the city and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
reveal the name of the team will be Denver Cutthroats.
The team is scheduled to begin play for the 2012-13 season at the Denver Coliseum.
